Memories.
Life is like a series of journey and a collections of memories. We live this world temporary so better to create and leave good memories to anything and anyone. Because memories will last forever.
The things you can see only when you slow down. You don't have to keep pace with life, you make it work for you. So you kind of get back to your "human side". Where you actually speak to people, interact with them, spend time with nature, enjoy every single greatness of God's creations.
Sometimes you just need to sit outside, enjoying sunset with your bare eyes, without take pictures with your magic phone, Log it to your head and remember the day, so it's all in there, in the human brain, not on hard drive. Then you will realize, what life is supposed to be like.
Social Media.
I believe to the "power" of social media, just like double edge knife it can bring positivity as well as negativity. On the positive side it can help people to connect to each other, even though we don't know them personally, plus it can help us to keep update to the new knowledge and skills, however in other side it is also can bring more harm than good, if we don't use it wisely as it can affect to our psychology as human being.
In the last quarter 2020, Netflix release the social dilemma film which provides a very interesting overview of the function and impact of social media, directly from the veteran technology experts of giant tech company in the world.
They never expected that the technology that they created that can give that "significant" impact towards human being, especially on human psychology, therefore they are limited their own children to use technology at home.
As without social media, we can enjoy every moment fully, we don't need to "show" it to the world, just enjoy "feel" every moment completely to our "heart, body and soul" and "save" all the memories to our "brain". I'm not saying social media is bad, but HOW WE USE IT is matters.
I remember the day when I was kid, I mostly have fun outside with my friends instead of playing with gadgets as, as I just have phone when I was at college, lol.
The world todays is totally different, Nowadays my 2 years old cousin can operate TikTok very well, even he teach me to use it. However he becomes too dependable to gadget, instead of look for his mom, he directly look for phone every times he woke up. He is so happy when he get lot of likes and view, yet sad if the viewer is only a few. It is so sad that that likes and view can control his happiness, its so pity when netizen can control your self love and happiness, indirectly it has been control his psychology. He looks for his identity and acknowledgement among digital society which mostly he don't know yet. It creates apparent happiness.
Happiness should comes from inside, when you can accept and love your self fully, you create unshakeable self esteem and resilience.
Below are several samples of toys that I play when I was small, I once a keeper in soccer team #proud :D
Identity. Empathy. Creativity.
In a moment, we must going back to our nature and culture, to constantly cultivate our human side, because that what differentiate us with robot.
I sometimes realize that people live in countryside sometimes more creative and appreciative than people live in the city. Because they will put more effort to get what they want, not just instantly get it from store. And usually they more appreciative to nature as they all get it from nature.
In example, pokemon blade, back then before pokemon blade is coming out, I have been playing that in traditional version, me and my father made it by ourselves from scratch from wood, there I learn to be creative, understand the effort, patient and process also memories that last.
Sometimes we must go back to our root to make us stay grounded and thoughtful.
In the midst of modern, instant, and smart world we also need to preserve our culture. Because that's our responsibility for our future generation, to continue the message from our ancestor, if not us, who else?!
I always believe that culture is our identity, the one who differentiate us with another. In example Korea with their Kpop, Indonesia has a lot of cultures to be preserved...
I personally love arts, classic, ethnic and authentic stuff, I really amazed with how the traditional artist create arts, they are not only beautiful but full of stories beside their works. Even from that you can learn about the history too....In example in Batik, Have you realize that every region in Indonesia has a lot of different batik, and every region has their own typical pattern and color? usually in Java the color is more tone down, in Bali, Surabaya is more bright, and the pattern is more about local cultures, like batik papua is more on totem, surabaya more on mangrove, java more on kingdom etc...
Look deeper, then you can understand....the more you understand the more you will respect and amazed....
Legacy is not only the one you leave behind but also the one you create forward.
